HAVING THE SAME NAME

ROJAK BUAH BESALUT KACANG TUMBUK! AS SALAM, WE WENT TO A NEWLY OPENED EATERY. THEY SERVED A  FAMOUS MENU IN MALAYSIA. AYAM PENYET. ALTHOUGH THE SERVINGS IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL, THE TASTE IS ALMOST THE SAME. AYAM IS HOT AND CRISPY AND THE CRUNCHIES ARE GENEROUSLY SPREAD ON TOP. ULAM2 IS A BIT DIFFERENT BUT WE LOVE THE DIFFERENCES. SO, WHATEVER THE MENU IS CALLED, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE SPICY CRUNCHIES AND THE HOT FROM THE KUALI SMASHED FRIED CHICKEN MAKES THE DAY! THEY HAVE ROJAK BUAH ON THE MENU AS WELL. THE PIC SHOWED HOW MUCH THE KACANG TUMBUK IS SPRINKLED ON TOP OF THE ROJAK AND THE TASTE IS CHILLI HOT AND SWEET.  HOT SMASHED CHICKEN WITH CRUNCHIES! ULAM2 AND KEROPOK AS WELL.

AS SALAM, LAST WEEKEND WE WENT TO PERAK TO SENT MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS OFFERED TO GO FOR A TRAINING BEFORE SHE IS TO BE ACCEPTED AS A STAFF IN ONE CENTER FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.THERE ARE 5 OF US. AFTER SENDING HER, THE FOUR OF US WENT AROUND TOWN TO KILL THE TIME BEFORE GOING BACK TO SHAH ALAM. IKAN TERUBOK PANGGANG RM8 ONLY! NAMPAK TAK TIMUN KECIK TU? AS USUAL, WE HAD A WONDERFUL LUNCH. THIS PLACE OFFERS A VARIETY OF ULAM2. SOME OF WHICH I DON'T KNOW BUT HAD SO MUCH FUN TRYING. EVEN MY YOUNGEST SON LOVE THE FOOD. WE HAVE THIS AT HOME,TOO

sayur  bakar sambal belacan & cili  kicap AS SALAM, SCHOOL HOLIDAYS HAS JUST ENDED AND SCHOOL IS WAITING WITH OPEN ARMS, CHILDREN! SO, WE BROUGHT THE CHILDREN OUT ON SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A FAMILY DINNER. WE WENT TO A RESTAURANT NEARBY, NEWLY OPENED, SUPPOSEDLY FAMOUS FOR ITS' BAKAR-BAKAR. AND OF COURSE THE MAIN DISH  ARE ALL BAKAR-BAKAR. OTHER THAN FISH, WE HAD SAYUR KAILAN BAKAR. UNBELIEVABLE DELICIOUS AND SO IS THE BILL! ulam2 tangan -tangan yang lapar.

AS SALAM, I WENT TO A PASAR MALAM NEARBY, JUST ABOUT 5 MINS DRIVE FROM HOME. AND OFTEN. THERE'S ONE TYPE OF FISH WHICH WE USUALLY FIND BACK IN THE KAMPUNG AND VERY RARE HERE. BUT THIS PASAR MALAM HAVE IT EVERY WEEK. WE COOK THIS FISH IN MANY WAYS. SOUP, FRIED DIPPED IN FLOUR, ASAM PEDAS KUNYIT. AND WE EVEN HAVE SALAI IKAN LUMEK. MY CHILDREN LOVE THIS MENU. THIS FISH LOOKS VULNERABLE WITH SOFT AND TRANSPARENT FLESH BUT TOUGH MIDDLE BONE AND SHARP UGLY TEETH, WHICH OF COURSE WE DON'T EAT. IF YOU FIND THIS FISH IN THE MARKET, DON'T HESITATE TO BUY. JUST FOLLOW THIS SIMPLE MENU: FOR 1 KG FRESH FISH, CUT THIN SLICES 3 RED ONIONS, 2 GARLICS CRUSH AND CHOPPED, THIN STRIPES OF ABOUT I THUMB OF GINGER, 1 CUBE CHIC STOCK.
